Almanac Forecast from 4 Feb to 5 Mar 2026 with 12th crossing into 1st Lunar Month

Good day to everyone!

We will enter into the Fire Horse Year 丙午年 by entering into its first month Metal Tiger Month 庚寅月 from early morning of 4 Feb 2026..This day is known as Li Chun 立春, the Beginning of Spring.

It will be the beginning of Spring season.

📅Month Overview – 4 Feb to 5 Mar (☀️solar calendar)

Year and Month Pillars Interaction 太歲流月作用

Horse and Tiger bands together to generate strong Fire though the Yang Fire positioning at the Heavenly Stem which strongly overwhelms the Yang Metal belonging to the Feburary.

If Fire is your helpful element, good, as it turns stronger.

  • If Fire is your helpful element, good, as it turns stronger.
  • If Fire is not your helpful element, not good, as it overwhelms the Yang Metal. And the Ten Gods that associate to the Yang Metal is the subject you have to manage and take care properly.

Twelve Traversing Palace Deities 串宮十二神

This is understood as describing what is likely to occur externally. “External” refers to events happening to people around you; you may still be affected positively or negatively depending on whether you engage with or avoid them.

Bereaver over Warlord 喪門坐白虎.

You may experience the following:

  • Informed of a funeral wake or someone’s passing.
  • Made known of an accident, usually related to traffic or due to handling heavy machinery including cutting equipments.
  • Told about someone else’s incarceration or legal trouble.

⚠️Days to Take Note

Clashing 月破 – avoid making hasty decisions
Feb – 15 (Sun) and 27 (Fri)

Punishing 月刑 – avoid getting into conflict
Feb – 12 (Thu) and 24 (Wed)

Piercing 月害 – avoid getting sabotaged or subject of gossips
Feb – 12 (Thu) and 24 (Wed)

Virtuous 天德(合)/月德(合) – to deal with difficult people or situation
Feb – 6 (Fri), 7 (Sat), 11 (Wed), 12 (Thu), 16 (Mon), 17 (Tue), 21 (Sat), 22 (Sun), 26 (Thu) and 27 (Fri)
Mar – 3 (Tue)

The above days were flagged based solely on Almanac considerations. Those who had your Natal Chart read by me might have been given other dates to consider. Feel free to reach out if you are unsure.

When virtuous days overlap with any of the clashing, punishing or piercing days, the virtuous is meant to weaken the negative effects of clashing, punishing or piercing days.

Do note that difficult people or situation does not automatically resolved on virtuous days. It is just that the difficult people is likely to be less difficult as usual; or some resources or person with influence come forward to offer help or insight to the difficult people or situation.

🧭Feng Shui Caution

Context
As mentoned in the CNY Tips, the full Annual Flying Stars is to be read in pair to one’s House Flying Stars or Monthly Flying Stars for full comprehension of the influence that can have for people active at relevant sector. House Flying Stars is calculated based on the main entrance facing. Clients who had their Fengshui auditted by me would know based on the report I have for them.

Hence, the Monthly Flying Star in this context is to understand whether it strengthens or weakens the effect of the Annual Flying Star.

How It Works
The Flying Stars combination effects are likely to happen if that sector has window or an entrance to the space. It is also likely to happen if your Natal Chart annual trend has signs similar to what the Flying Stars combination describes.

If the description is not helpful and you wish to avoid, do not be active in that sector for over 2 hours consecutively.

Try to take a break of 10 minutes at other sectors.

  • North – Academic meets Wealth
Not exactly a challenging sector but not helpful if you already have existing liver or gallbladder issues; and tends to drive fast.
  • Northeast – Sickness meets Academic
Not exactly a challenging sector but not helpful if you already have existing digestive or cranial nerves issues.
  • East – Wealth meets Fortune
Can be helpful sector to aid promotion or opening up new opportunities. However, these Stars are losing influences hence the aforesaid helpful outcome can be limited. The Yin and Yang Noblemen in this sector may act as supplement.
  • Southeast – Thievery meets Happiness
Challenging sector. Can lead to poisoning or fire.
  • South – Conflict meets Misfortune
Challenging sector. With Tai Sui also sitting in this sector, can lead to conflict, traffic accident and not helpful if you already have existing liver or foot issues.
  • Southwest – Misfortune meets Thievery
Challenging sector. Can lead to conflict and legal troubles and not helpful if you already have existing gastric, oral, abdomen or respiratory issues,
  • West – Officer meets Conflict
Can be helpful sector to aid in showcasing talent. However, Conflict is losing influence hence the aforesaid helpful outcome can be limited.
  • Northwest – Happiness meets Sickness
As the Stars are gaining influnces, can be helpful in attracting wealth and improvement in studies.

CNY Tips for Fire Horse 2026

Good day to everyone!

Be warned – this is a very long post.

We are entering into the Chinese solar calendar of Fire Horse Year 丙午年 from the wee morning of 4 Feb (Wed).

This is day is known as Li Chun 立春, the Beginning of Spring.

The Day 1 of Chinese New Year that runs on the Chinese lunar calendar falls on 17 Feb (Tue).

Debunking common fear-mongering for 2026 and 2027

There have been a lot of rah-rah going on about 赤馬紅羊年 Crimson Horse (2026) and Red Goat (2027) Years.

Gossips have it that they are of strong fire and will bring disasters and conflicts. There are even practitioners dig up historical events including wars and natural disasters that happened in the previous 赤馬紅羊年 Crimson Horse and Red Goat Years as reminders.

I wonder why no fengshui masters warned about the genocide in Gaza back in 2023 癸卯年, which is Yin Water sitting on Yin Wood. Why such atrocities happened in a smooth generating 順生 year?

There are natural disasters of all magnitudes and armed conflicts of varied scales that happened all the time, somewhere around the globe. It is just whether are you so interested in geopolitics to keep yourself abreast to current affairs.

So, I never quite understand how is any fengshui masters getting kicks for able to predict world events since it is so vague that as if they are accurate. What more, predicting, usually, the omninous predicament, really seems to me nothing more than fear-mongering. There is a difference between using metaphysics to prepare onself to manage problem, micro or macro view; or being simply a doomsday theorists, which simply tell you to purchase their products or services.

Point is, both Fire Horse and Fire Goat are just part of the sequence of the Sexagenary Cycle 六十甲子. Having 2 strong Fire Years back-to-back does not mean more chaos in the world. They are to be read in context to your personal Natal Chart. If Fire is your helpful element, good for you, if not, be mindful of what Fire manifest as your Ten Gods and learn how to manage them.

Debunking common folk belief

There is a practice of deposit your money to the bank on Li Chun 立春 claiming that you will gain more wealth. This is a practice that was made popular over the last two decades. It does not have any strong metaphysics theory to support this action.

In fact, base on the theory on the power of correspodence 外應象法, the action of putting money to a machine, symbolically means wealth is detaching from you. Hence, you should carry more cash than usual on that day to symbolise you are wealthier than the year had just passed.

And since Day 1 of CNY comes after Li Chun 立春, the year is termed as Blind Year 盲年. Some folk belief that this year will be less than ideal and will discourage getting married in this year. Again, this belief is not supported by any proper metaphysics theory.

Mainstream common folk practice

24th day of the 12th lunar month, 11 Feb (Wed) is the day to make offerings to the Kitchen God 祭灶, a practice believed to have the Kitchen God giving good appraisal for the household to the Heavens. Common offerings is niangao 年糕, a sticky sweet glutinous rice cake.

Sidetrack, niangao 年糕 can taste delicious if you know how to fry them with batter that contains eggs.

It is also the day to send the deities 送神日 that you worship at home, if any, to the Heavens.

Kitchen God and any deities you worship at home is/are meant to be received 迎神日 on the 4th day of the 1st lunar month, 20 Feb (Fri).

You only receive the deities if you did send.

Tai Sui

This year’s Tai Sui is Wen Zhe 文哲. Also apparently in certain folk beliefs, you are considered to have offended this year’s Tai Sui if you have the exact same Chinese name.

Temples will advice you to offer prayers to Tai Sui should your birth year, month, date and time has any of the following zodiac sign:

  • Horse
  • Rat
  • Ox
  • Rabbit

All along, I neither encourage nor discourage making prayers to Tai Sui. However, my only advice to people who make prayers to Tai Sui is – please set your calendar to remind yourself to thank Tai Sui at the end of the year. Do not owe Tai Sui ah.

In case you are interested to know, I do not make offerings to Tai Sui.

Receiving CNY

This is another set of mainstream folk practice to receive Auspiciousness 納吉 and it actually does have proper metaphysics theories to support it. However, you can choose not to do it.

You can make prayers or meditate to a auspicious direction as the clock strikes at midnight of CNY Day 1 on 17 Feb (Tue). The prayers can be simply offering incense and candles. It does not specify in the Almanac but I was advised to choose only one auspicious star for prayers or meditation, rather than engaging with all of them. This is meant to encourage focus and avoid rushing between multiple directions.

Most importantly, there must be a window or door that connects to the exterior of the house and faces the auspicious direction. If this direction is behind your main door, the door should be opened while you are making prayers or meditating.

How did I pray or meditate?

I offered candle and incense to the direction facing an auspicious direction. Behind the candle, I wrote the name of the auspcious star to indicate that the prayers were directed specifically toward that direction.

I sat near to my offerings facing the same direction as above and meditate. You can recite mantra if you have been doing any regular mantra work. I sat with my eyes closed, observing my breathing, steadied my mind, and allowed myself to think of/visualise/daydream scenarios related to the aupicious star that I was facing.

If you are meditating, try to do at least 10 minutes.

The following are the auspicious stars with their respective directions on CNY Day 1:

  • Happiness Star 喜神 at the South
  • Abundance Star 財神 also at the South
  • Noble Star 貴神 at the East

However, there is a tricky part

Of course I will touch about the Annual Flying Stars 流年飛星 if you have the stamina to read till the end.

Let us have a little sneak preview here, Star 5 Misfortune 五黃煞星 sits at the South, and not forgetting our Tai Sui belongs to the Horse direction which sits at the South too!

So Tai Sui and Star 5 Misfortune can follow if you are facing the South to receive Happiness and Abundance Stars. This sounds like literal 富貴險中求 wealth and honour are sought through risk.

Personally, opposing Tai Sui 沖∕面太歲 is not as bad as influenced by Star 5 Misfortune. Why? This is because Tai Sui is not a deity that punishes people; it does not actively bring trouble to those people offending it. As an auxiliary position to the movement of Jupiter 歲星, opposing Tai Sui translates to facing more hurdles. And it is not as if we have never faced with big challenges before.

However, the Star 5 Misfortune is the issue.

Hence, I will advice facing East to receive the Noble Star 貴神 instead. Furthermore, Star 8 Fortune 八白運星 sits at the East. Although there may be advanced level Flying Star enthusiasts arguing that Star 8 Fortune is losing its influence and may not as been as positive as before but it beats facing Star 5 Misfortune.

CNY Day 1

It is advisable not to travel out of house in the following timing, but if you have to, I have also included what to take note in respective timing. Also to not that the timings are adjusted to local time and not in solar time.

  • 12:10am to 2:10am, opposing Tai Sui 歲破 – avoid making rash decision, do not speed.
  • 8:10am to 10:10am, opposing Day 日破 – avoid making rash decision, do not speed.
  • 4:10pm to 6:10pm, Time surpressing Day 五不遇時 – avoid making big decision, and also perhaps not a good time to gamble.

It is advisable to avoid facing the direction for consecutively over 30 minutes when you first travel out of the house, but if you have to, I have also included what to take note in respective timing.

  • Ominous Star 噩神 at the Southeast – avoid making rash decision, do not speed.
  • Chaotic Star 五鬼 also at the Southeast – avoid making impromptu decision, do not join pranks or jokes.
  • Death Gate 死門 at the North – avoid being obstinate in conversations, do not go into argumentative mode.

Addendum on 2 Feb
There will be a solar eclipse on CNY Day 1, however, it is likely not visible in our region.

The following are the auspicious commencement days for various activities after CNY Day 1.

🧭Annual Flying Stars 2026

A full Annual Flying Stars is to be read in pair to one’s House Flying Stars or Monthly Flying Stars for full comprehension of the influence that can have for people active at relevant sector.

In practice, I only advice the dealing on Star 5 Misfortune 五黃煞星 and Star 2 Sickness 二黑病星 and only matters if the sector has a window or at the main entrance. Also if your main entrance faces Star 5 Misfortune 五黃煞星 and Star 2 Sickness 二黑病星.

The following are the the influence of the Stars in brief:

  • Star 1 Officer 一白官星 sits at the Center.
  • Star 2 Sickness 二黑病星 sits at the Northwest – To hang 6 emperor coins at eye level of window or door. In a more advanced level of Flying Star, Star 2 is gaining influence as the Star 9 is in command, hence Star 2 may not be as negative as what Fengshui world has been describing for the past many decades.
  • Star3Conflict 三碧斗星 sits at the West.
  • Star 4 Academic 四綠文星 sits at the Northeast.
  • Star 5 Misfortune 五黃煞星 sits at the South – To hang 6 emperor coins at eye level of window or door.
  • Star 6 Wealth 六白財星 sits at the North – In a more advanced level of Flying Star, Star 6 is losing influence as the Star 9 is in command, hence Star 6 may not be as positive as what Fengshui world still describes.
  • Star 7 Thievery 七赤賊星 sits at the Southwest.
  • Star 8 Fortune 八白運星 sits at the East – In a more advanced level of Flying Star, Star 8 is losing influence as the Star 9 is in command, hence Star 8 may not be as positive as what Fengshui world still describes.
  • Star 9 Happiness 九紫喜星 sits at the Southeast.

Have a Healthy and Wealthy Year of the Crimson Horse!

Thank you for reading this far. This concludes my CNY tips for you.

The Almanac Monthly Forecasts will be sent separately. Those who have received them or will be receiving them may notice some changes in the content. I would appreciate your feedback, so I know whether the forecasts are helpful or if there are areas you would like me to cover.

Why I Do Not Give Chinese Zodiac Reading

Well, I did give a Chinese Zodiac Reading for an online event a few years ago and I felt it was bad.

And no, it is not because of I felt bad about the event that I do not give Chinese Zodiac Reading.

It is because I have known it for a long time that the Chinese Zodiac Reading that you often find during CNY period are not properly done. So why is the Chinese Zodiac Reading found in shopping mall boards, social media, TV programmes and even by your own masters not properly done?

Source of the Chinese Zodiac Reading

The information attached to the Chinese Zodiac came from a particular chart that is found in Cantonese Almanac. The follow is a screen grab of that chart for 2026 Year of the Fire Horse 丙午流年.

This chart belongs to a technique known as 七政四餘 Seven Luminaries and Four Residuals, an ancient astrology system in Chinese metaphysics besides the Three Techniques 三式. Like any astrology chart, it comes with 12 houses, which in Chinese, we call them 12 palaces. Each palace stands for an Earthly Branch that is associated with a zodiac sign. For illustration purpose, I have labelled the zodiac signs in English terms.

Every palace is splitted into 2 halves, with the characters in the upper half contains the helpful stars 吉神 and the lower half has the harmful stars 凶煞. The stars are categorised in different tiers due to difference in power and influence. However, this is often not discussed in the context of Chinese Zodiac Reading.

99% of the Chinese Zodiac Reading that you see in the market would simply take the information found in the palace and pass it off as appliable to everyone born under the same zodiac. For example, we see Tiger has no stars in the upper half, it will be read as everyone born in the Year of the Tiger do not have helpful stars.

This is very very very very very incorrect way to use this chart.

On top of your birth year, you need to know your birthday to decide which part of the month you were born in, and birth time.

Correct Way to Chinese Zodiac Reading

With the full details in hand, you can proceed to check the correct Chinese Zodiac Reading. The following is a screen grab of a chart for checking the correct Chinese Zodiac Reading for 2026 Year of the Fire Horse 丙午流年.

With the full details in hand, you can proceed to check the correct Chinese Zodiac Reading. The following is a screen grab of a chart for checking the correct Chinese Zodiac Reading.

For demonstration purposes, the following is a reverse-engineered version

Let use birth year Rabbit as an example. Looking at the lower half of the chart that I have underlined in green horizontally, the birth year Rabbit that corresponds to the Rabbit Palace is only 1 out of 12 combinations!

If you are born in the year of the Rabbit and want to rely on the Rabbit Palace, your birth month and birth time combination has to reach to the Horse Palace as the Annual Minor Cycle 小限局.

Now, looking at the upper half, there is only one specific hour-period 時辰 in each month to match to the Horse Palace as the Annual Minor Cycle 小限局.

I am not an expert in statistic but I think it will take at least 12 x 12 =144 for each half, and hence will be 144 x 144 probabilities for you to hit the same Palace meant for your birth year?

Do you think this is it?

Not yet!

Further Detailed Way to Chinese Zodiac Reading

Still using the year of the Rabbit as an example, and assuming the final landing is on the Rabbit Palace, you do not just read the Rabbit Palace!

Not yet!

You have to read the Four Key Positions 三方四正 related to the Rabbit Palace! Refer to the screen grab below.

So if you finally landed onto the Rabbit Palace, you have to consider the stars in Pig, Goat and Rooster Palaces as well! Therefore, although Tiger Palace is empty at the upper half, it has to consider the stars in Dog, Horse and Monkey Palaces which will not render Tiger Palace to be void of helpful stars 吉神 entirely!

In the Alamanac, this overall reading are summed up and provided divination lot-like slips.

The real expert in 七政四餘 Seven Luminaries and Four Residuals will also read how much of the constellation enters the Rabbit Palace and the attributes can affect the overall reading of the stars from four Palaces.

No matter the challenges found, the advice from Almanac will always be telling you to make prayers to specific Chinese/Taoist Deities.

Still using the above example, in certain practice, the mid-point that is the landing point in Annual Minor Cycle 小限局 , the Horse Palace is to be read as well. In this context, the Horse Palace will be read as a progress that you will go through before arriving what the Rabbit Palace forecasts.

And you think that’s the end?

Nope!

You have to consider the Luminaries affecting the Palaces!

Conclusion

It does take a number of steps to read the real Chinese Zodiac Reading. Most practitioners who do this Chinese Zodiac Reading publicly chose not to do the full process.

A common reason I was told is, they know the full process but it will not be possible to cater to the general masses’ consumption.

I just wish to steer clear and not overly simplify such complex technique though I was guilty of doing it once.

I find that not honouring the technique in its proper manner and can give advice what crystals or colours tow wear is nonsense.

And to be honest, I do not think this is even the most authentic 七政四餘 Seven Luminaries and Four Residuals even going through all the steps I have shared earlier. Other than making prayers, I do not know the system well enough to advice how to select helpful time/space to manage the challenges found within.

I prefer using Ba Zi or Divination because these methods allow me to select helpful months and days to manage challenging forecasts

Or maybe, I should start giving Chinese Zodiac Reading by requesting participants to give their birth details so that I can do the full process? And maybe I can set up temporary altar to help interested clients to make offerings to the Chinese/Taoist Deities mentioned in the Almanac! Teehee!

So, neither fret out if you read your birth year zodiac to be horrible nor elated when your birth year zodiac seems like champion.; because it is likely inaccurate.

Almanac Forecast from 5 Jan to 4 Feb (solar calendar) and 11th crossing into 12th Lunar Month

Good day to everyone!

We have entered into the Chinese solar calendar of the Yin Earth Ox month 己丑月 from late afternoon on 5 Jan.

We are in the end of the Winter season.

📅Month Overview – 5 Jan to 4 Feb (☀️solar calendar)

Heavenly Stem and Earth Branch Interaction 干支作用

Heavenly Stem is Yin Earth 己 and can make Yang Wood 甲 transforms into Earth under specific conditions.

Earthly Branch is Ox 丑 is considered as a Yin Water, however, when considering the hidden Heavenly Stems found within, it contains Yin Earth, Yin Water and Yin Metal. Ox’s Earth can be transformed into Metal under specific conditions or makes Rat’s Water transforms into Earth under specific conditions.

Changes in your courses of action can take place if the above transformations do take place in your personal Ba Zi natal chart.

A pure Yin Earth pillar can mean a slower, ‘hibernating’ month in view. For a more detailed understanding, what slows down depends on which of the Ten Gods it is associated in your personal Ba Zi chart. For example, if Yin Earth is your Fortune 正財, it can be understand that work moves slower.

12 Deities of Linked Palaces 串宮十二神

As I am practicing a new Ba Zi technique, I have come across this interesting way for monthly forecast. Thought it may be of interest, hence include here for reference.

For Yin Earth Ox month 己丑月 , the 12 Deities of Linked Palaces comination is:

Warlord over Warlord 白虎坐白虎.

Warlord denotes aggression, violence and accident. This combination can mean noticeable aggressive behaviours, violence and accidents. Be very careful if you drive and do not take part in extreme sports/activities if you have never done so.

Do note that 12 Deities of Linked Palaces is calculate based on the current year, hence the monthly forecast can be understood as what happens externally. How it manifest exactly and to what intensity has to study with your natal chart to understand the overall interactions.

⚠️Days to Take Note

Avoid making hasty decisions 月破
Jan – 9 (Fri) and 21 (Wed)
Feb – 2 (Mon)

Avoid getting into conflict 月刑
Jan – 12 (Mon) and 24 (Sat)

Avoid getting sabotaged or subject of gossips 月害
Jan – 8 (Thu) and 20 (Tue)
Feb – 1 (Sun)

The above days were flagged based solely on Almanac considerations. Those who had your Ba Zi natal chart read by me may have other dates to take note.

🧭Feng Shui Caution

Please take not that the negative Flyings Stars combinations is more likely to manifest either your annual Ba Zi trend is not good or have specfic combinations in your Ba Zi chart that matches similar or equal types of events and if you are active in that directional sector over 3 hours consecutively.

The Monthly Flying Star 2 Sickness and Annual Flying Star 4 Academic both come to the West – this can be read as increasing common colds or mothers getting misunderstood.

The Monthly Flying Star 5 Misfortune and Annual Flying Star 7 Thievery both come to the North – this can be read as troubles due to speaking wrongly or at inappropriate times.

To minimise the negative manifestation, you can move to other sectors in that space every 3 hours for 15 minutes to break the momentum.

🎇Folk Commemoration Days (🌙lunar calendar)

11 Jan 十一月廿三 (Sun)
Descent of the Lord of the Southern Dipper 南斗星君下降
This is more specific for people who wish to pray for longevity, however, there are certain abstinences to observe for the prayer.

The Chinese Mahayana marks this day to commemorate on the Enlightement of the Buddha.

11 Feb 十二月廿四 (Wed)
Ascent of the Kitchen God 灶君上朝玉帝日
This is a folk belief that the Kitchen God ascends to the Heavens to submit his annual report of the one’s household’s deeds to the Jade Emperor. This gave rise to the practice of making offering with sweet rice cake in hope of Kitchen God being more lenient.

There is also a folk belief that along with the Kitchen God, all the deities that you worship at home also ascend to the Heavens except for the Door Deities.

The Arrival of Spring, Li Chun 立春, falls on the early morning on the 4 Feb (Wed) and that will have us entering into the Year of the Fire Horse 丙午年 on the Solar Calender. However, the 1st day of CNY, based on the Lunar Calendar falls on the 17 Feb (Tue).

🥳Announcement!!!

Bazi is traditionally and widely used to forecast one’s annual luck trend. However, for folks that do not know your birth time, divinations like Liu Yao Gua, Qi Men Dun Jia or 12 Opening Gua can be used to forecast one’s annual luck trend.

I will write a separate post on what to take note in the coming Year of the Fire Horse when we are closer to Li Chun.

Till then!
